DALLAS, – WBAP/KLIF – Humana says it’s notified 522 members in texas a limited amount of personal information may have been exposed when third parties posing as physician provider groups registered onto one of it’s service providers web portal and gained some personal information using some it already possessed. Affected members are believed to be in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, and a number of different health carriers in addition to Humana may have been affected
Time frame of the breach is believed to have been about two years through February 21rst of 2018. Information figured to be possibly affected is believed to have been names, member identification numbers, benefit information and Care Reminders, which doctors use to know if Humana record indicate a nee4d for a screening, lab test or other treatment.
Humana says this incident did not contain the full Social Security number, banking or credit card information.
Humana says it’s offering affected members a year’s worth of identity theft protection through Equifax.
