Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Those really long lines at driver’s license offices could be a thing of the past … maybe. The issue is back on the table again as state lawmakers address it in a two-year state budget.
The budget keeps DBP driver’s license mega centers in place, but a separate bill would transfer control of licensing to the Department of Motor Vehicles from the DPS.
Also on the table, a pay raise that would give most state workers a nearly 3-percent a year cost-of-living adjustment. There would be bigger raises for a few selected categories.
