(WBAP/KLIF) – Governor Greg Abbott looks to be somewhat satisfied with the head of the Department of Public Safety taking the fall for a bungled check of non citizen voting.
DPS director Steve McCraw took full responsibility for the problems with the voter data that was given to the Secretary of State’s office.
Abbott has been critical of McCraw lately, blaming his office for not cracking down on possible illegal voting.
The Governor does not have the power to fire McCraw.
