Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A Fort Worth man is being treated at Parkland Hospital for severe burns to his upper body after an explosion in his apartment this morning
The incident happened just before five this morning, according to Fort Worth Fire Department’s Mike Drivdahl. He says that there was painting going on inside the apartment at the time and that paint fumes cause the blast.
“It was not related to natural gas. The apartment complex does not have gas in that building. We’re confident is saying that it is the paint fumes that ignited.”
Another person inside the apartment on Montevista Lane near I-20 was not hurt.
A lower level apartment of the Mirador Apartments sustained water damage when the sprinklers went off.
