(WBAP/KLIF)- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) launches an app to keep schools safe.
The iWatchTexas app made by DPS partnering with the Texas Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Texas School Safety Center, is a tool to help law enforcement and keep students safe. “If you see something, say something and this is set up for the community to have additional eyes and ears helping the police department, once the tip is submitted it’ll be reviewed by a Law Enforcement analyst,” said Lonny Haschel with DPS.
Haschel said the community can report suspicious activity including criminal or terrorist related threats at school or work. “The goal is to reach as many Texans as possible to share how this tool can help keep our communities safe,” he said.
Most recently, DPS created a how-to video to demonstrate how to use the iWatchTexas mobile app.
