Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A former Dallas police officer who was fired two years ago for inappropriate use of force and turning off a police camera says it took the department until this week to ask for his gear back.

Josh Forner tells WFAA-TV, since he was fired, nobody ever asked him to return his uniform, gun, vest, taser, and several other police items.

He called it a threat to society that no one ever collected the gear.

The department told the station it needed more time before responding to any questions.

“They’re in a catastrophe situation, the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing,” he told the station.
