AT&T Employees Serve Meals, Give Survival Kits at Dallas Homeless Outreach Center

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- With hundreds of homeless spending the night at the Dallas Our Calling Outreach Center, AT&T employees will provide a catered meal, a survival kit backpack and blankets.

Our Calling Founder Wayne Walker says with 10,000 homeless people in Dallas and not enough beds, the daytime outreach center opens it’s doors for cold nights like tonight so people have a warm place to sleep.

“It can be really critical the weather is fatal so it gives us an opportunity to show some mercy for folks, we are not a shelter but we will stay open to house people on nights where it gets below freezing,” Walker said.

Walker said the dinner with AT&T was planned weeks ago but it is perfect timing for them to give back as North Texas faces some of the lowest temperatures of the season.

In addition to dinner and backpacks live jazz entertainment will also be provided.
