Collin County (WBAP/KLIF) – A former Collin County day care worker has been indicted on eight counts of child abuse. 44-Jessica Joy Wiese has been jailed since December after a mother became suspicious of bruises on her 2-month old son’s leg and chest.
The child had been in the care of workers at Joyous Montessori in McKinney.
Ariel Martin was told her that the bruise might be a birthmark, and was later told it was the result of a rough diaper change.
A trip to the hospital however, revealed that the child had eight broken ribs and a broken femur. Another parent had pulled her child out of the facility months earlier after noticing bruises and scratches on her body.
Police say an investigation of security video from the facility uncovered numerous instances of abuse by Wiese.
