WISE COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF)- An update of the Wise County children found malnourished and covered in feces earlier this month:
Some family members of the Wise County children came forward to ask for a custody transfer.
In a hearing today, Marissa Gonzalez with child protective services says the children have several grandparents, some out of state, that will be willing to take care of them.
“The family does have some sup and some families we can look into but of course it’s up to a judge to determine if they’re appropriate or not,” Gonzalez said,
Gonzalez said the children are doing well and currently in foster care. A second meeting with a judge late march, will determine the next step.
