DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas City Councilman Kevin Felder turned himself into police Tuesday morning after an arrest warrant was issued Monday in connection with an alleged crash earlier this month.
Felder is accused of hitting a teen on a scooter and leaving the scene of an accident.
The councilman surrendered himself to Dallas County jail and was booked into the system just before 10:45 a.m. on a third-degree felony charge of accident involving serious bodily injury.
Felder’s attorney Pete Schulte took to social media Tuesday to defend his client.
My client, @CityOfDallas Councilman Kevin Felder, appeared in District Court this morning and resolved the arrest warrant filed by @DallasPD yesterday. Sorry, media, no wanted “perp walk” today. Although not happy with the PDs decision, we now look forward to our day in court.

Felder is also facing scrutiny for an incident that happened outside Dallas City Hall Monday.
While walking past reporters, Felder put his hands in front of various photographers and at one point video shows a photographer falling backwards.
It is not clear if the photographer was pushed or if he tripped over a change in elevation in the City Hall parking lot.
Schulte said he’d spoken with management from the tv station that employees the photographer. He insisted the photographer tripped and said he was told assault charges would not be filed. According to the Dallas Police Department, during the preliminary investigation of the incident, the victim told police that he did not want to pursue charges. The victim then signed an Affidavit of Non-Prosecution.
