City of Dallas Would Welcome Amazon After Company Pulls HQ2 From New York

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Mayor of Dallas said Thursday the city has open arms to Amazon after the company pulled its HQ 2 headquarters from New York.

Dallas was on Amazon’s shortlist before the company chose New York, Virginia and Nashville for the headquarter locations. Mayor Mike Rawlings said the company hasn’t announced any plans to choose another location.

“They have decided to focus on the job at hand and really kind of work through their plans in Northern Virginia and the small piece in Nashville,” said Rawlings.

The City of Dallas presented Amazon with a comprehensive plan and a list of incentives that the Mayor and other city leaders have said they are proud of.

“They know that we love them,” said Rawlings. “They got our phone call and we stay in touch from time to time.”
