Lockdown Lifted at Four Denton County ISD Schools After Threatening Phone Call About Guns as Braswell High School

AUBREY  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Four schools in the Denton County Independent School District were briefly locked down Tuesday morning after the Little Elm Police Department received a call about two students who were said to have guns on the Braswell High School campus.

The department issued a statement on its Facebook page that said in part:

“The students in question were identified, detained, searched and no weapons were found. LEPD also reviewed video footage that tracked the students in question throughout the morning and searched several classrooms.”

Navo Middle School, Bell Elementary and Paloma Creek Elementary were also placed on lock down because of their proximity to Braswell.

The lockdown was implemented at 8:57 a.m. and was lifted around 9:45 a.m.

During the lock down, hundreds of parents lined up outside Braswell High School to pick up their kids.

This woman had already spoken to her daughter as she waited outside. She said her daughter was terrified about what could have happened.

“She’s scared to death and she said that she just wanted to come home. Even if it wasn’t real, she said that she just wanted to come home,” she said.

Little Elm Police said they’re investigating the situation.
