DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn appears to be doing his due diligence as he prepares for his re-election run in 2020.
The three term Senator has hired a new campaign manager along with a new strategist to help focus the teams message.
During a conference call, Cornyn said, “We’ve gotten a little complacent when it come to running races in texas, assuming that republicans would always win the general election.” In 2018, Republican Senator Ted Cruz was held below 51 percent in his race against Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke.
“I don’t think we can take for granted that Texas will be reliably Republican in the foreseeable future unless we take care of our business,” said Cornyn.
In 2020, cornyn will be running for his fourth term.
