ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Arlington City Council is seeking feedback on a proposal to regulate short term rental (STR) homes.
Tiffany Morgan, mother of three, lives a few houses away from an Airbnb and ten minutes from the AT&T Stadium. She said she’s concerned for her children’s safety and wants to ban STR homes completely. “We have had constant parties in an out of there, 14 cars parked on the street for that house and had to call the police at all hours of the night for loud noises and glass on the street,” Morgan said.
Morgan said she’s reached out to the rental home owner and hasn’t received a response. “I don’t have a whole lot of confidence for the city to regulate how many people are in the house or how many cars because we’ve called on this house multiple times and it’s still a problem,” Morgan said.
City staff will give the Council a final report and ask for feedback on the proposal at a meeting January 29th at 6:30pm. The proposal then will go through the Planning and Zoning Commission process before going back to Council. A vote could be sometime in March or in the next few months.
