(WBAP/KLIF) – Arlington based Texas Health Resources is laying off what it calls ‘a small number of employees’.
“We’re taking a long term view of everything we do,” said spokesman Stephen O’Brien. “We want to ensure that we are financially sustainable and good stewards of the resources the community has given us.”
O’Brien said the company plans to work with former employees affected by the layoffs to look for other opportunities within Texas Health.
“We have a long track record of placing impacted employees in other roles in our system, and we are working hard to do so for these individuals,” said O’Brien.
O’Brien said good organizations look at how effective and efficient they are and look to put resources in the right places.
“This is core to carrying out our nonprofit mission to improve the health of the communities we serve,” he said.
The company wouldn’t specify an exact number of employees laid off.
