North Texans Honor the MLK Holiday

(WBAP/KLIF) – Cities across North Texas are honoring the Martin Luther King Junior holiday with parades and services.

“Everyone in the community enjoys coming out and seeing all the bands and the drill teams,” a Fort Worth MLK Parade goer said.

Both Dallas and Fort Worth held separate parades. The 2nd Annual Collin County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Appreciation Day was held Monday in Allen. Organizers say the mission of the Appreciation Day Service is to honor Dr. King’s legacy and continue the values he represented of love, equality and justice.

Other events are planned across the DFW metroplex through Monday night to pay tribute to the civil rights leader.
