Dalllas (WBAP/KLIF) – The U.S. Postal Service has apologized after a mailman was caught on video pepper-spraying a Dallas family’s three dogs on his route for no apparent reason.
Homeowner Giovanni Baenas told WFAA-TV that he keeps his dogs behind a six-foot tall reinforced fence. The video captured the mail carrier putting mail into a mailbox along the curb; and, as he walks away sprays mace at the dogs which were barking behind the fence.
In a statement the postal service said the carrier’s actions are “unacceptable.” Officials will not comment his status with the post office, but Baena wants him off his route.
