Lewisville SWAT Team Takes Down Aggravated Assault Suspect

LEWISVILLE – WBAP/KLIF –  Lewisville Police called out the SWAT team late Friday to force the arrest of a man who barricaded himself inside an apartment for several hours in the 300 block of East Continental Drive.

Lewisville Police Captain Christopher Butterworth says a woman complained 31 year old Tyrell Stalling had beaten her, threatened her with a weapon, and forced her out of the apartment without their child.   Butterworth says Stalling resisted contact with police, and the SWAT team was called in to force the arrest, and further, that another man in the apartment with Stalling was questioned and released.

Butterworth says Stalling was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana, and abandoning and endangering a child.  He’s last reported held in the Lewisville Jail with bail set at 20 thousand dollars.   Butterworth says the child was recovered unharmed and released to the mother.
