DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – The threat of bad weather in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex has caused a cancellation of the First Responders Bowl. The game had been scheduled between Boise State and Boston College, and has been ruled “no contest”.
Five North Texas law enforcement officers were to be honored for their outstanding community service during halftime ceremonies. Four police officers were to be lauded for saving a choking child, stopping an injured motorist from bleeding to death, and stopping an active shooter. The federal law enforcement official was credited for helping a key federal witness overseas to claim asylum and gain employment in the United States.
