DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The State Fair of Texas is looking for someone to help design Big Tex’s boots for next year’s state fair.
The Fair’s Karrissa Condoianas said there’s still a lot of time to enter a contest they’re currently running.
“We have people of all ages entering. So, it’s a lot of fun to see those roll in.” she said.
Once the submissions are all in, the public will be able to vote on the winner.
“The winner that’s chosen will get to work with Lucchese boots to finalize the design,” said Condoianas.
The contest runs through January 31.
Fair officials are excited about the prospects for next year after facing difficulty this year due to bad weather during most of the fair’s run.
“We operate off of 24 days and we had 12 days of rain this year. We don’t have our final numbers… that’s in the works but we can imagine that yes…that’s going to be a big hit,” she said.
This year, about two million people attended the fair.
