PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – Plans to revitalize a failing Collin County mall are moving forward.
It was announced Thursday evening Collin Creek Mall has a new owner, developer Mehrdad Moayedi. Moayedi’s Centurion American Development Group has indicated its plans for a $1 billion dollar mixed-use redevelopment of the high-profile property. Moayedi is known for restoring downtown Dallas’ landmark Statler Hotel.
“With this announcement, Christmas has arrived early for us in Plano,” said Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere. “The renovation of Collin Creek Mall will be the catalyst to help redefine our downtown. I am excited about what 2019 will bring.”
The project is expected to bring more retail, restaurants and townhouses to the space. City officials believe the project will progress quickly.
