FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- The Fort Worth Fire Department donated a much needed washer and dryer to Fort Worth ISD’S Maude I. Logan Elementary School. Principal Steven Moore said they’ve had the same washer and dryer for 20 years and it was rusting over. “Sometimes there’s a need for the kids to feel good about themselves and to be able to have access to a washer and dryer to take care of their personal needs it does nothing but positively affect their social and emotional development,” Moore said.
Mike Drivdahl with the Fort Worth Fire Department said the school needed to launder some of the students clothing. At a Welcome to School Event, the Fire Department noticed the machines they were using were in poor condition. He said Fort Worth Fire Fighter Charities stepped up and answered the call without hesitation. “We wanted to make sure we had something here for them to make sure they get their clothes clean and take care of the kids,” Drivdahl said.
Drivdahl said he’s grateful to have community partnerships like this to serve and help the Stop 6 community.
