ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The city of Arlington is considering regulations for short term rental homes such as Air BnB’s.
Gincy Thoppil Arlington’s Planning and Development director says they’re considering requiring permits to allow rentals. These permits will also help the city keep track of the amount of these homes in a specific area.
They city discussed limitations on occupants, parking rules, trash pick up as well as considering limiting the number of short term rental homes in the area. Thoppil said there can be no more than 2 people per room and 12 people per home. This regulation will be on a case by case basis depending on the size of the home. Thoppil also discussed not allowing RV’s or Busses and no sleeping in vehicles, cars must also be parked on private property.
Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams says the city will continue to collect information and resident feedback before meeting to further discuss this early January.
