DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Former Dallas Cowboy Josh Brent was back in court Monday, years after he was found guilty of Intoxication Manslaughter in the drunk driving death of one of his teammate’s.
Brent is being sued for his involvement in the crash and is expected to testify early this week in the civil suit filed by Jerry Brown Junior’s mother. Brown was killed in 2013 when the car Brent was driving crashed after leaving a Night Club in Dallas. Testimony in the criminal trial showed Brent’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. The lawsuit names Brent, the bar, and the bar’s management company as defendants.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said that an investigation revealed the club was conducting practices promoting excessive drinking. The club’s attorney’s say the responsibility falls on Brent.
