Hillcrest High School Parents Learned of Student Charged With Rape & Murder on the News

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The principal of Hillcrest High School has posted a letter to the school’s website addressing parent concerns that a 15-year-old student is accused of a murder and several rapes, but some are saying the school district dropped the ball.

Dallas Morning News city columnist Robert Wilonsky wrote that he first learned of the situation Tuesday night on the news, and that his son, who attends Hillcrest, had been talking about it with other students for days.

The letter was posted to the school’s website only yesterday afternoon and says the district is cooperating with police. It states that the district has to comply with state juvenile laws in handling the situation. Read more here.

The boy is connected to the murder of a 23-year-old woman at her apartment near the Galleria, as well as three rapes in Dallas and two in Louisiana.
