First Look at the new Trinity Park

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Figuring out the process around several false starts when it comes to the Trinity River Park has taken a long while. Now, the Trinity Park Conservancy says they’re ready to get started. Trinity Park Conservancy is hosting a First Look Event that will let residents see the starting design details for Harold Simmons Park, the 200 acre area between the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge and the Margaret McDermott Bridge. CEO & President of the Trinity Park Conservancy Brent Brown says this is something that will bring North Texas together: “we’re excited about engaging with the community. it’s the beginning, it’s the first ink on paper for the designing of Harold Simmons Park – which will be right in the middle of our city helping to connect Downtown, West Dallas and North Oak Cliff.”

The First Look will be held at Gilley’s Dallas, located on 1135 South Lamar Street from 5:30p.m. to 8p.m. The event is free and open to the public and the community is encouraged to attend.

Attendees can view a cross-section of the Park from east to west. The 60 foot long graphic will feature visuals on the potential landscape changes and amenities. The event will also feature: Liz Silver (Associate Principal, MVVA,) Tim Dekker (President, LimnoTech,) Matt Urbanski (Principal, MVVA,) and Michael Van Valkenburgh (President/CEO, MVVA,)

Attendees have an opportunity to view cross-section and talk with the presenters and other design team members.
