Fort Worth Police Implement Baited GPS Packages to Stop Package Thieves

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- The Fort Worth Police Department launched a program to limit package theft.

The “Operation Grinch Pinch” program will provide participating community members with GPS baited packages, that’ll track down thieves. Officer Jimmy Pollozani said those who wish to participate will need a 24 hour surveillance monitoring system. The packages will be geo-fenced, officers will get an update when a package is moved out of the location so they can get a suspect into custody and recover the package. Once “Grinch Pinch” is completed, crime analysts will determine the program’s effect on package thefts across the City of Fort Worth. Grinch Pinch was implemented on Dec. 1 and will conclude at the end of the year.
