Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign Kicks Off in North Texas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Salvation Army’s famous red kettles are popping up outside of grocery and retail stores this week, marking the start of the giving season.

The Red Kettle Campaign is kicking off across the world. At a Wednesday ceremony outside Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Mayor Mike Rawlings spoke about the value of the organization.

“The Salvation Army serves so many homeless, so many families in need, and so many young kids,” said Mayor Rawlings. “Domestic violence is a big issue for me and they take in so many women who come from broken homes.”

The campaign raises millions of dollars every year for families in need worldwide. It officially kicks off of the during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game.
