Trinity Trails gets an extension in Southwest Fort Worth, Connecting to More Than 40miles of Trails

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- The Trinity Trails got a one mile extension in Southwest Fort Worth. Tarrant Regional Water District, Trademark Property Company and Streams and Valley Non-Profit worked together to build a $1.5 million bridge to connect Bellair Drive to Watercourse Drive, making it easier for runners and joggers. ‘It takes a lot of partners to work together and sometimes it takes a long time but when it comes to fruition they are amazing and this bridge is a great example,” said Stacey Pierce, Director of Streams and Valleys. Pierce said this a thriving area of people who use the trails all the time and it was in need of repairs. “We have several gaps in our trails that prevent people from making loops and we wanted to fix that,” Pierce said. The bridge was named ‘Fit Worth’ after an initiative to promote healthy living by Mayor Betsy Price.
