(WBAP/KLIF) – With Election Day here many are making their voices heard. The American Civil Liberties Union is also making sure the voters are able to cast their ballots without concerns. Tommy Buser-Clancy is a Staff Attorney with ACLU and says if something goes wrong at the polls, give ACLU a call: “Even if the issues is you’re not sure where your polling place is or you’re not sure if you’re registered to vote we can help you out with that. And then obviously if there are larger issues, like voter intimidation, those are issues that also we need to know about to be able to resolve those issues.”
The ACLU of Texas staff attorneys will join volunteer attorneys in staffing a toll-free nationwide Election Protection Hotline to help voters who encounter problems at the polls.
The Election Protection Hotline is available in multiple languages:
• In English: 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)
• In Spanish: 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682)
• In several Asian languages (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Bengali): 888-API-VOTE (888-274-8683)
• In Arabic: 844-YALLA-US (844-925-5287)
