The city of Mesquite is building a Veterans Memorial Park to honor those who served. It will be located at City Lake Park on South Galloway Ave.
Mayor Stan Pickett said the budget is based off community donations, but they estimate it to be around $300,000.
The city received donations from organizations and families, including a $100,000 donation from Atmos Energy.
Pickett expects to have the ribbon cutting ceremony in 2019. He said this park will be a great addition to the city.
