Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Republican congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw has criticized comedian Pete Davidson for poking fun at the eye patch he wears as a result of being injured in combat. Crenshaw was badly wounded serving in Afghanistan as a Navy Seal.
Davidson suggested during the Saturday Night Live’s ‘Weekend Update” segment that Dan Crenshaw looks more like “a hit man in a porno movie” than a congressional candidate.
Crenshaw tweeted Sunday that he hopes the show “recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.”
Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.

This is what @nbcsnl has come to unfortunately. They have to dig deeper and deeper into the depths of the far left swamp to appeal to their dwindling viewers. That show stopped be funny a decade ago. Now it’s just trash. @nbc you should not be proud of this. #DanCrenshaw #nbc

Meantime, Crenshaw has followed up in a statement to TMZ saying that he is not demanding that Davidson apologize. He told the online entertainment site, that he wants society to get away from the culture of apology-demanding every time someone misspeaks.
