Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – With the big NASCAR race in town this weekend, many NASCAR drivers are taking part in a few community events. Driver Joey Logano will talk to a group of Northwest High School students about the dangers of distracted driving this morning at Texas Motor Speedway. It’s part of Triple A’s ‘Don’t Drive Intexticated’ campaign.
Triple A’s Daniel Armbruster says the students will join him and others in cars on the speedway, and ride through a cone course.
Triple-A says distracted driving plays a role in six out of ten teen crashes.

And, Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff contender Chase Elliott made a special visit Thursday to the General Motors Assembly Plant in Arlington to take a facility tour, visit with the employees and roll a newly built vehicle off the production assembly line.

Elliott, who also was joined by his NASCAR Hall of Fame father Bill for the visit, met with a number of employees in the plant auditorium for a Q&A session and photographs before heading out for a guided tour around the massive 4.375-million-square-foot facility that employs more than 4,000 workers.
