Sentencing Phase Underway in Dallas Murder for Hire Plot

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The sentencing phase in the trial of the triggerman in a 2015 murder for hire plot in Dallas began Monday in Dallas County.

Kristopher Love is convicted of Capital Murder in the shooting death of Dallas Dentist Kendra Hatcher in an uptown parking garage. On day one of sentencing the state showed text messages from Love about drug dealing and sex trafficking just days after the shooting. Police Officers testified about Love’s extensive criminal history and Hatcher’s sister took the stand about the pain caused by Kendra’s death. The state is expected to rest Tuesday.

Love faces the death penalty. It would be the first time a jury hands out a death sentence in Dallas County since 2013.

Brenda Delgado, the alleged mastermind in the murder for hire, is yet to go to trial.
