Garland (WBAP/KLIF) – One of the candidates for office in Garland cannot win even if she gets more votes than her opponent. Ashley Hutcheson has been running as a Republican for Justice of the Peace. However, a Dallas County judge disqualified her Friday because she missed the deadline to answer a lawsuit filed by her Democratic opponent. The judge then issued a default ruling that Hutcheson lives outside the precinct. That means while it’s too late to remove her name from the ballot, and voters can vote for her, Ashley Hutcheson cannot win even if she does come out on top in the election.
