FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – A Tarrant County jury sentenced a woman to 5 years in prison for trying to kill her son. Danita Tutt faked her 13-year-old son Colby’s illnesses and even starved him. Tutt’s defense attorneys argued that she’s a great mother who was convinced by doctors from cook children’s medical center that her son was dying. But Prosecutors argued that she loved the attention she got from having a sick son and lied about his symptoms. She was given a minimum sentence of five years and will be on probation for the next 10 years. She’ll be eligible for parole in about 2 and a half years.
