Governor Abbott Endorsed by National Latino Law Enforcement Organization

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Governor Greg Abbott received a campaign endorsement Wednesday in Dallas that he said he is proud of.

The National Latino Law Enforcement Organization said that it backs the Governor because of his devotion to law enforcement. The Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas, which endorsed Abbott over the summer, was present at the announcement. This, while Abbott is running against Lupe Valdez, a former Dallas County Sheriff and if elected, the first hispanic, lesbian Texas Governor.

“Why are we endorsing him instead of a long sitting Sheriff,” asked CLEAT President, Todd Harrison. “Because we think he’s the right choice for Texas and the right choice for Texas law enforcement.”

Recent polls show Valdez 15 points behind Abbott.

“If you believe in polls Hilary Clinton would be President,” Abbott said with a grin at Wednesday’s announcement.

The Governor said he’s confident that Republican conservative values will prevail on election day.
