FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The billion-dollar Panther Island Project, that will create a water front district in Fort Worth, needs to be scaled and audited. Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price said the Government doesn’t have the project in their budget for next year because the project has grown so much larger. Voters first approved a $250 million bond in May to help fund it but the city will need more funds in order to complete it. Price said they need to refocus the project, a third party needs to review it and make necessary changes. She wants to break down the project and start with fixing flooding, rerouting the Trinity River to redirect flood waters to lower spots north of Downtown.
