DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Arlington – Police are investigating a shooting after a traffic accident on I-20 near the New York Avenue overpass. The initial report says there was a minor fender bender just after eight o’clock Monday night. The two drivers stopped to exchange information.

Police say one man pulled a handgun and shot the other man in the head in front of his wife and two small children. The victim was taken to Arlington Memorial hospital but has since been released. Police say the bullet grazed his head.

The shooter took off and police are looking for a Hispanic man in his mid 20’s driving a light colored white or silver hatchback. Another person that was in the victims’ car with the family was interviewed by police.

Here is how Police say it happened: The victim was traveling southbound on 360 to merge onto the westbound lanes of I – 20. As the victim began travelling in the right hand lane, the suspect vehicle passed the victim on the outside shoulder. The suspect sideswiped the victim’s car causing damage to the mirror and right front fender. It’s possible the suspect’s vehicle might have minor damage to the driver’s side.

Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson tweeted “We will not tolerate road rage shootings in Arlington. We continue to focus on aggressive driving through proactive enforcement and public education.”
