Former VP Press Secretary Says Cruz, Trump Will “Put the Past Behind Them” at Texas Rally

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A former press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence says President Trump’s rally in Texas on Monday will aim to get Republicans to the polls and show voters that he and Senator Ted Cruz have moved on from past differences.

“You know that Senator Cruz and the President have put the past behind them,” Marc Lotter told the WBAP Morning News. “They’re looking ahead. We’ve got so much more work to do.”

Lotter also said the number one goal of the President’s trip to Houston is to get Republicans out to vote.

“The big message from the President is going to be that Republicans need to come out,” Lotter said. “They need to vote in these upcoming midterm elections, and that control of the House and control of the Senate rest with voters who support the President.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick are also expected to attend the rally.
