
Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – It was a dangerous, wild ride for a north texas Uber driver when a man allegedly threatened him with a knife, after driving him to Louisiana.
Harrison County, Louisiana authorities say 28-year old suspect Richard Darby told Tarrant Ccounty Uber driver Ekpono Eckponobong [Ek-pono-Bong] to drive him Shreveport where his family had been killed, according to WFFAA-TV.
Once in Shreveport, the driver was instructed drive back toward Fort Worth, during which time the suspect allegedly put a knife to the driver’s neck and ordered him out of the car; the driver slowed down and jumped out.
DPS troopers later found the vehicle in a ditch on I-20 with no sign of the suspect. However, authorities said Darby left his wallet with his identification inside the vehicle.
He was later spotted and arrested on aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
