Baylor Scott and White, Memorial Hermann Health Sign Letter of Intent to Combine Forces

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Baylor Scott and White and Memorial Hermann Health are combining forces. The Hospitals’ board members signed a letter of intent to combine both hospitals to advance health care in Texas.

Memorial Hermann Health Chairman Deborah Cannon said the pair is a match-made in heaven. “Working together we think we have better chance than anyone of really being innovative, providing new ways of care to our patients,” Cannon said.

Baylor Scott and White Chairman Ross McKnight says the hospitals are like-minded both committed to making quality healthcare safe and affordable.

“It means we are the most efficient organization you can find, and that efficiency goes to our mission, research and education but most importantly to our communities, our patients,” McKnight said.

The merger agreement is anticipated to be complete in 2019.

They will not rebrand their hospitals but it will be renamed to include both hospitals.
