FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The challenge is called 100 in 100, to get 100 homeless veterans off the streets and into homes in 100 days.
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price said they’re working with organizations across Continuum of Care to create a system that will provide homeless veterans a home and help them get on the right track. “If you can get them in homes, more than likely you can get them in jobs and become productive members of society,” Price said.
At a kickoff event Monday, Tarrant County Homeless Coalition, The City of Fort Worth, The city of Arlington and other community partnerships talked about possible ways to make this dream a reality with the support from the community and housing groups.
“We have to start with somebody and what better way to start with people who served for us,” Price said.
The challenge ends on December 21st, just in time for the holidays.
