UPDATED September 6, 2018 12:50 AM
Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas police have identified the man accused of ramming his pickup truck into the Fox 4 News studios in downtown Dallas Wednesday morning as 34-year-old Michael Chadwick Frye. He has been charged with a second degree felony Criminal Mischief.
Frye has a lengthy criminal history in Denton County with 26 arrests including assault, public intoxication and criminal mischief.
Dallas Police Senior Corporal Debra Webb said Frye allegedly hit the building intentionally several times around 6 a.m. before going on a rant about “high treason” and surrendering to police.
“When he came into contact with the officers, the officers said he was just rambling and saying all kinds of non-sense. So, it appears he was just in some sort of agitated mental state,” she said.
A police K-9 unit and bomb squad were called in because of suspicious bag left behind at the scene.
No explosive were found and no one was injured in the incident.
