FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The city of Fort Worth and Fort Worth Police are hosting a civilian active shooter training course. Eddy Trinadad with Fort Worth Police said the training course provides strategies and guidance for surviving an active shooter event. Trinadad said this program is potentially lifesaving as it highlights strategies developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT). The course is free and open to the public.
The training will be offered to Fort Worth residents during two sessions this month:
Aug. 16, 6-8 p.m. University Christian Church, 2720 S University Dr.
Aug. 27, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Heritage Church of Christ, 4201 Heritage Trace Pkwy.
Both sessions will cover the same material.
