“Doo” The right Thing: North Texas Campaign for Pet Owners to Pick Up After Pets, Clean Waterways

Provided by: Contest Submission

(WBAP/KLIF) – North Central Texas Council of Governments is hosting a dog calendar contest to help clean waterways. Derica Peters with the organization said they have asked pet owners to submit photos of their pet as a pledge to pick up after them. This campaign is called “Doo” The Right thing, people submit photos for a chance to have their pet featured in the calendar. Peters said bacteria in water is primarily caused from pet waste. “Through this program we want to bring awareness to the fact that we do have a bacteria impairment in our waterways and you can prevent that by doing something as simple as picking up after your pet,” Peters said.

Vote for your favorites here, for a chance for them to be featured in the 2019 “Doo” the Right Thing Calendar.
