Collin College Teams up with Google to Offer I.T. Courses

MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF) – Students at Collin College in McKinney are getting the chance to take I.T. classes from Google.

The technology giant and the college are teaming up to try to increase the number of I.T. workers amid a shortage across the country. Classes in Google’s I.T. certificate program will be available to students at some point in the fall.

“It is shaping up that we will be offering five courses that Google is putting out as part of its Google I.T. Professional Technical Support Certificate,” said Dr. Ann Beheeler, Collin College Executive Director of Emerging Technology Grants. “And we are going to be offering those to students along with some of our students.”

Students who complete the program will have chances to interview with high profile I.T. Companies through the partnership.
