Southwest Airlines Joins Campaign Against Ending DACA

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has joined opposition to Texas’ efforts to end the DACA program.

Southwest, three other businesses and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce around the state filed a brief Wednesday, saying ending DACA would be a big blow to the Texas economy. The group says Texas would lose over $6 billion in economic activity during the next decade, according to the Dallas Morning News.

DACA grants work permits and protection from deportation to undocumented immigrants brought to the u.s. as children.

Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit challenging DACA’S legality earlier this year.
