DeSoto (WBAP/KLIF) – Raw sewage was discharged into a southern Dallas County creek Saturday. It began flowing around 10:00 AM, and an unknown amount was dumped into Tenmile Creek before it was stopped some 8 hours later. Exactly what happed is under investigation. The city of DeSoto says it was caused by a mechanical issue with equipment owned by the Trinity River Authority. Tenmile Creek flows to the southeast from Cedar Hill through Duncanville, DeSoto, and Lancaster before eventually reaching the Trinity River. How much environmental damage may have been done is not clear.
