NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (WBAP/KLIF) – Fire Officials responded to the home on 6100 Abbott Avenue in North Richland Hills Friday morning. Carissa Katekuru with North Richland Hills Public Safety said the fire started after a tree fell onto a powerline, causing the powerline to fall onto the home. Katekuru said the homeowners and their pets were able to escape the home safely. She said firefighters worked hard to put out the fire in this extreme heat and had to rotate shifts to hydrate and recharge. “You can tell the fire fighters are sweating, there are a lot of empty water bottles on the ground, because they are just trying to stay hydrated at this point,” she said.
Fire Fighters starting working to put out the fire from the outside and made their way inside once it was safe.
